St. Joseph Hospital started as a vision in the 1920’s and was eventually built in 1960 due largely to the dedication of an extraordinary few that saw the need for a hospital in the Cheektowaga area. That need still exists today.
We respectfully ask you to consider including St. Joseph Hospital Foundation in your will in gratitude for care you or someone in your family has received at St. Joseph Hospital, or in appreciation for simply knowing the hospital is nearby if care is needed. You can easily make a gift of cash, offer a percentage of your real estate or offer a percentage of your personal property or estate. Most charitable bequests are not made by millionaires, but by average people.
Your gift does not have to be a huge amount to have a huge impact. Regardless of the amount or the form of your contribution, you can be assured that St. Joseph Hospital Foundation accepts it gratefully, knowing it represents your vision for our community’s healthcare future.
What are the advantages of making a planned gift?
- It is the easiest way to make a significant gift to be remembered
- It’s a gift you can earmark for a specific purpose (e.g., Emergency Department)
- It can lower estate taxes
- You can set aside a specific amount
- You can name more than one charity in your bequest
Sample Bequest Language:
“I give and bequeath (describe assets such as sum of money, specific property or real estate, etc) to St. Joseph Hospital Foundation for programs affecting St. Joseph Hospital.” You may stipulate that your bequest be used only for a specific program such as cardiac care, ICU/CCU, or the Emergency Department, etc., simply by adding language as follows, “This gift shall be applied at St. Joseph Hospital to support (name area of service).”
Your bequest will ensure that you and your family are never forgotten and that St. Joseph Hospital – which has served the community for almost 50 years – will be here for many, many decades to come.
We can discuss with you the different methods of making a planned gift and the advantages to you. If you already have included St. Joseph Hospital in your long-term plans, please inform the foundation. You can call our office with any questions, at 891-2595, or email us at info@sjhfdn.com.
